Providing Support, Insight & Relentless Compassion

Life Coaching

Life coaching is about moving forward and living the best life we can. As traditional therapy has been known to be most effective in examining the past to learn about our present, Life Coaching asks, “What Now?”

Somatic

Experiencing

It is a form of Trauma Healing that restores to health a traumatized body, brain and psyche. The work I do supports the idea that trauma is not a disorder, but an injury caused by fright, helplessness and loss.

Academic Life

Coaching

Academic Life Coaching helps your student design an individualized action plan to get them motivated, organized, handling stress effectively and developing positive study skills as well as life skills.

 WHAT IS LIFE COACHING?

What is Life Coaching?

Life coaching is about moving forward and living the best life we can.

As traditional therapy has been known to be most effective in examining the past to learn about our present, Life Coaching asks, “What Now?”

The Life coaching philosophy is that the past is over and does not determine our future. We determine the circumstances of our life from a place of power, authenticity and passion. Once you make the decision to transform your life, you can't go back! The resignation to simply survive is no longer a choice.

What is Somatic Experiencing?

It is a form of Trauma Healing that restores to health a traumatized body, brain and psyche.

The work I do supports the idea that trauma is not a disorder, but an injury caused by fright, helplessness and loss. It can result not only from catastrophic events such as violence, emotional and mental abuse or loss of loved ones, but also from natural disasters and everyday occurrences such as auto accidents, divorce and neglect.

Somatic Experiencing blends the latest findings in neuroscience, biology and body-oriented psychotherapy which enable my clients to self-regulate high states of arousal and intense emotions.

I believe that the process of releasing stored up trauma that distresses the nervous system, can restore lives.

I was going through the trauma of a messy divorce and a friend suggested I contact Amanda. She has a gift. Because of the somatic work we did, I was able to let go of all the emotional pain as well as the physical pain I was holding on to. I’m a better father to my teenage daughter who has needed me through this life transition. Amanda has done an amazing job of challenging me and my daughter in unique ways through her creative style of coaching. She is unique, to say the least. Thank you Amanda!

What is Academic Life Coaching?

Academic Life Coaching helps your student design an individualized action plan to get them motivated, organized, handling stress effectively and developing positive study skills as well as life skills.

When your student completes this program, they will:

  • Apply their learning style to earn better grades

  • Understand their motivation style and become more proactive

  • Reduce stress by creating effective study systems

  • Boost confidence and excitement about their future

  • Write more successful college applications because they will more naturally demonstrate the skills valued by admissions officers

But Academic Life Coaching is not only geared toward academic achievement. The second part of the program offers the necessary skills to go out into the world with purpose and accountability. Lessons are built around identifying core values, developing healthy boundaries and making smart, confident decisions. Increasing a student’s self-awareness and building a fluency of thoughts, emotions and habits puts the “Life,” in Academic Life Coaching.
